AMSTERDAM – Rubio Rubin scored his second goal of the Eredivisie season in a losing cause as Sunday afternoon guests FC Utrecht dropped a 3-1 derby decision away to defending champs Ajax.
The 18-year-old slid forward from the No. 10 hole to put in a terrific full shift as cover for injured central striker Ruud Boymans. His side's highlight came when Rubin ran onto a fine Edouard Duplan through ball to coolly slice the early Ajax two-goal lead in half 10 minutes before intermission.
