College Cup: Virginia win 7th NCAA championship in penalty kick shootout vs. UCLA
CARY, N.C. – The University of Virginia won its seventh NCAA championship on Sunday, defeating UCLA 4-2 in a penalty kick shootout after finishing overtime in a scoreless tie at the 2014 College Cup final at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Forward Riggs Lennon buried the decisive penalty for Virginia, which made four of five PK attempts to defeat UCLA, which missed two of its four penalty tries off the crossbar.
