[FD] New release of testssl.sh

Hi, version 2.6 of the SSL/TLS checker "testssl.sh" is out! testssl.sh is a free command line tool which checks a server's service on any port for the support of TLS/SSL ciphers, protocols as well as recent cryptographic flaws and it much more. It is written in (pure) bash, makes only use of standard Unix utilities, openssl and last but not least bash sockets. Version 2.6 includes major improvements (ids from github): * LOGJAM: check of DHE_EXPORT ciphers, displays DH(/ECDH) bits in wide mode on negotiated ciphers * (HTTP) proxy support! Via sockets and openssl -- Thx @jnewbigin * TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV check -- Thx @JonnyHightower * TLS 1.0-1.1 as socket checks per default in production * TLS time and HTTP time stamps for architecture fiingerprinting * support of sockets also for STARTTLS protocol checks * TLS time displayed also for STARTTLS * binary directory provides out of the box better suited binaries (with up to 195 ciphers), besides Linux static binaries: * OS X binaries (new builds from @jpluimers) * FreeBSD binary * ARM binary (@f-s) * Extended validation certificate detection * "wide mode" option for checks like RC4, BEAST. PFS: Displays hexcode, kx, strength, DH bits, RFC cipher name * will test multiple IP adresses in one shot, --ip= restricts it accordingly * runs in default mode through all ciphers at the end of a default run * new mass testing file option --file option where testssl.sh commands are being read from, see https://twitter.com/drwetter/status/627619848344989696 * displays matching host key (HPKP) * further detection of security relevant headers (reverse proxy, IPv4 addresses) as well as proprietary banners (OWA, Liferay etc.) * can scan STARTTLS+XMPP by also supplying the XMPP domain (to-option in XML streams). * quite some fixes when using LibreSSL, still not recommended to use though (see https://testssl.sh/) * lots of fixes, code improvements, even more robust Get it while it's hot @ https://testssl.sh or @ github where all development action takes place: http://ift.tt/1iFsHAe . Some of the planned feaures for the next release see http://ift.tt/1KtvPox Cheers, Dirk (@drwetter)

Tracking Kilo from Hurricane to Typhoon

The Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission's core satellite captured Hurricane Kilo throughout its life cycle as Kilo slowly worked it's way westward across the Pacific Ocean. Kilo eventually crossed the international dateline where it officially changed from a "hurricane" to a "typhoon". Along it's way, Kilo put itself in the record books. Kilo was the 3rd named storm of the 2015 hurricane season to cross the international dateline. It was also a very long lasting storm persisting for 21 days, which made it a fairly rare event. Because it was such a long lasting storm, GPM was able to capture it several times throughout the course of it's life span. Such multiple captures of the same storm can help scientists better understand the development of hurricanes.

Hurricane Kilo's Precipitation Trail

NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission's core observatory launched on Feb. 27, 2014 as a collaboration between NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and acts as the standard to unify precipitation measurements from a network of 12 satellites. The result is NASA's Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM data product, called, IMERG, which combines data from 12 satellites into a single seamless global precipitation map. The map covers more of the globe than any previous precipitation data set and is updated every half hour, allowing scientists to see how rain and snow storms move around nearly the entire planet. As scientists work to understand all the elements of Earth's climate and weather systems, and how they could change in the future, GPM provides a major step forward in providing the scientific community comprehensive and consistent measurements of precipitation.

A Plutonian Landscape

This shadowy landscape of majestic mountains and icy plains stretches toward the horizon of a small, distant world. It was captured from a range of about 18,000 kilometers when New Horizons looked back toward Pluto, 15 minutes after the spacecraft's closest approach on July 14. The dramatic, low-angle, near-twilight scene follows rugged mountains still popularly known as Norgay Montes from foreground left, and Hillary Montes along the horizon, giving way to smooth Sputnik Planum at right. Layers of Pluto's tenuous atmosphere are also revealed in the backlit view. With a strangely familiar appearance, the frigid terrain likely includes ices of nitrogen and carbon monoxide with water-ice mountains rising up to 3,500 meters (11,000 feet). That's comparable in height to the majestic mountains of planet Earth. This Plutonian landscape is 380 kilometers (230 miles) across. via NASA http://ift.tt/1iB2Qth

Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Airlock Preparation for JEM Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (JSSOD) #4 Launch:  In preparation for the deploy of two JSSOD satellites this morning, Yui opened the outer JEM Airlock hatch and extended the slide table to the outside of the ISS.  Ground Controllers used the JEM Remote Manipulator System (JEMRMS)  Small Fine Arm (SFA) to remove the JSSOD from the slide table and positioned it for deploy of two satellites. Both satellites were succesfully deployed approximately 10 minutes apart. The first satellite is designed to observe the Ultraviolet (UV) spectrum during the Orionid meteor shower in October.  The second satellite, sponsored by the University of Brasilia and the Brazilian government, focuses on meteorological data collection.   Fluid Shifts Imaging Measurements with Russian Chibis:  Kelly and Volkov, with assistance from Kornienko and remote guidance from a ground team, each used a Russian Chibis (Lower Body Negative Pressure – LBNP) device during examinations for Cerebral and Cochlear Fluid Pressure (CCFP), Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE), and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).  Fluid Shifts is a joint NASA-Russian experiment that investigates the causes for severe and lasting physical changes to astronaut’s eyes. Because the headward fluid shift is a hypothesized contributor to these changes, reversing this fluid shift with a lower body negative pressure device is under investigation to support development of preventative measures against a lasting change in vision.   Sprint Ultrasound:  Yui performed his Flight Day 60 thigh and calf ultrasound scans today with guidance from the Sprint ground team.  Ultrasound scans are used to evaluate spaceflight-induced changes in the muscle volume. The Sprint investigation evaluates the use of high intensity, low volume exercise training to minimize loss of muscle, bone, and cardiovascular function in ISS crewmembers during long-duration missions. Upon completion of this study, investigators expect to provide an integrated resistance and aerobic exercise training protocol capable of maintaining muscle, bone and cardiovascular health while reducing total exercise time over the course of a long-duration space flight. This will provide valuable information in support of investigator’s long term goal of protecting human fitness for even longer space exploration missions.   HTV Cargo Transfer Status:  Lindgren and Kelly continued working on HTV-5 Cargo transfer operations today. Cargo specialist estimate the crew will need approximately 5 hours to complete the HTV-5 cargo operations.   LAB1P5 Cleanout:  Lindgren removed all stowage from LAB1P5 lockers in preparation for Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Locker removal and disposal tomorrow. This volume will eventually be used by Common Communications for Visiting Vehicle (C2V2) hardware, which will be installed during Increment 46.   Today’s Planned Activities All activities were completed unless otherwise noted. ISS Daily Summary Report – 09/15/15

Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Operations:  Yesterday afternoon, the Robotics Ground Controllers powered up the MSS and maneuvered the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) into position to survey the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) Earth Sensor Assembly (ESA) unit B, which had experienced an anomaly on GMT 234. Afterwards, the SSRMS was moved back to its original position.   Today, Robotic Ground Controllers maneuvered the SSRMS into position to receive a hand off of the Exposed Pallet (EP) from the JEM Remote Manipulator System (JEMRMS). Once the handoff was completed, the Robotics Ground Controllers maneuvered the EP to H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV)-5 where ISS Crew Members Lindgren and Yui inserted it into the HTV-5 Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC).  HTV-5 is scheduled to unberth from ISS on September 28th.   Russian Pilot-T Experiment: Kelly performed his third session for Pilot-T. The goal of the Pilot-T experiment is to improve methods and develop equipment to assess and predict crewmember performance reliability during the execution of complex operator tasks (piloting a space vehicle and controlling transport and robotic equipment on the surface of a spacecraft) during various stages of long-term spaceflight.   Fine Motor Skills Experiment:  Kornienko completed a session of the Fine Motor Skills experiment.  During the experiment he performed a series of interactive tasks on a touchscreen tablet. This investigation is the first fine motor skills study to measure long-term microgravity exposure, different phases of microgravity adaptation, and sensorimotor recovery after returning to Earth gravity. The goal of Fine Motor Skills for Kornienko is to identify trends or variations in fine motor performance in microgravity over the duration of a year-long space mission; how fine motor performance on orbit compares with that of a closely matched participant on Earth; and how performance changes before and after gravitational transitions, such as during early flight adaptation and after return to Earth.   Observation and Analysis of Smectic Islands in Space (OASIS) Glycerol/Water Fill:  Kononenko filled the inkjet droplet device with glycerol and water in preparation for the final experiment protocol on each sample container.   Kubik 5 Temperature and Centrifuge Data Transfer:  Yui transfered data from ESA’s KUBIK 5 hardware to a Station Support Computer (SSC) for downlink to the ground.  He then disconnected and stowed KUBIK 5 hardware.   Initial Preparations for Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (JSSOD) #4 Launch:  In preparation for the deploy of JSSOD satellites this Thursday, September 17th, Yui set up the Robotic Work Station (RWS) in the Cupola.   Waste and Hygiene Compartment (WHC) Urine Receptacle (UR) Routine Maintenance:  Lindgren performed a change out of the WHC UR and insert filter. Following the change out, a WHC functionality test was succesfully performed.   On-board Training (OBT) ISS Emergency Hardware Familiarization:  Volkov and Kelly reviewed where emergency hardware is located on the ISS. Among the items covered were the US Portable Breathing Apparatus (PBAs), US and Russian fire extinguishers, emergency masks, fire/ammonia cartridges and ammonia measurement kits.   HTV Cargo / Galley Rack Transfer Status:  All three USOS crew members performed HTV-5 Cargo transfer operations today. Among the items being transferred was the new Galley Rack.  Interference was encountered during installation of the rack in Node 1.  Bungies and zip ties were used to temporarily hold the rack in place. Meanwhile ground teams assess photographs taken by the crew.  Hardware needed for Galley Rack activation will arrive on a later flight.  Approximately 10 hours remain to complete HTV-5 cargo operations.   SSC Donut 2 Service Pack Deploy:  Overnight Friday, the SSC service pack named Donut 2 was installed successfully on all SSCs. Donut 2 contains upgrades for OPTIMIS (Onboard Short Term Plan Viewer replacement), International Procedure Viewer (IPV), and the Crew Webpage.  Donut 1 was previously deployed on GMT 230.  This completes the Donut Service Pack deploy.     Today’s Planned Activities All activities were completed unless otherwise noted. Pickering's Triangle in the Veil

Chaotic in appearance, these filaments of shocked, glowing gas break across planet Earth's sky toward the constellation of Cygnus, as part of the Veil Nebula. The Veil Nebula itself is a large supernova remnant, an expanding cloud born of the death explosion of a massive star. Light from the original supernova explosion likely reached Earth over 5,000 years ago. Blasted out in the cataclysmic event, the interstellar shock waves plow through space sweeping up and exciting interstellar material. The glowing filaments are really more like long ripples in a sheet seen almost edge on, remarkably well separated into the glow of ionized hydrogen and sulfur atoms shown in red and green, and oxygen in blue hues. Also known as the Cygnus Loop, the Veil Nebula now spans nearly 3 degrees or about 6 times the diameter of the full Moon. While that translates to over 70 light-years at its estimated distance of 1,500 light-years, this field of view spans less than one third that distance. Identified as Pickering's Triangle for a director of Harvard College Observatory and cataloged as NGC 6979, the complex of filaments might be more appropriately known as Williamina Fleming's Triangular Wisp. via NASA http://ift.tt/1FOtV0X

Performance Analysis and Prediction in Educational Data Mining: A Research Travelogue. (arXiv:1509.05176v1 [cs.CY])

In this era of computerization, education has also revamped itself and is not limited to old lecture method. The regular quest is on to find out new ways to make it more effective and efficient for students. Nowadays, lots of data is collected in educational databases, but it remains unutilized. In order to get required benefits from such a big data, powerful tools are required. Data mining is an emerging powerful tool for analysis and prediction. It is successfully applied in the area of fraud detection, advertising, marketing, loan assessment and prediction. But, it is in nascent stage in the field of education. Considerable amount of work is done in this direction, but still there are many untouched areas. Moreover, there is no unified approach among these researches. This paper presents a comprehensive survey, a travelogue (2002-2014) towards educational data mining and its scope in future.

Efficient Task Collaboration with Execution Uncertainty. (arXiv:1509.05181v1 [cs.AI])

We study a general task allocation problem, involving multiple agents that collaboratively accomplish tasks and where agents may fail to successfully complete the tasks assigned to them (known as execution uncertainty). The goal is to choose an allocation that maximises social welfare while taking their execution uncertainty into account. We show that this can be achieved by using the post-execution verification (PEV)-based mechanism if and only if agents' valuations satisfy a multilinearity condition. We then consider a more complex setting where an agent's execution uncertainty is not completely predictable by the agent alone but aggregated from all agents' private opinions (known as trust). We show that PEV-based mechanism with trust is still truthfully implementable if and only if the trust aggregation is multilinear.

Extraction of evidence tables from abstracts of randomized clinical trials using a maximum entropy classifier and global constraints. (arXiv:1509.05209v1 [cs.CL])

Systematic use of the published results of randomized clinical trials is increasingly important in evidence-based medicine. In order to collate and analyze the results from potentially numerous trials, evidence tables are used to represent trials concerning a set of interventions of interest. An evidence table has columns for the patient group, for each of the interventions being compared, for the criterion for the comparison (e.g. proportion who survived after 5 years from treatment), and for each of the results. Currently, it is a labour-intensive activity to read each published paper and extract the information for each field in an evidence table. There have been some NLP studies investigating how some of the features from papers can be extracted, or at least the relevant sentences identified. However, there is a lack of an NLP system for the systematic extraction of each item of information required for an evidence table. We address this need by a combination of a maximum entropy classifier, and integer linear programming. We use the later to handle constraints on what is an acceptable classification of the features to be extracted. With experimental results, we demonstrate substantial advantages in using global constraints (such as the features describing the patient group, and the interventions, must occur before the features describing the results of the comparison).

A Simulated Annealing Approach to Bayesian Inference. (arXiv:1509.05315v1 [stat.CO])

A generic algorithm for the extraction of probabilistic (Bayesian) information about model parameters from data is presented. The algorithm propagates an ensemble of particles in the product space of model parameters and outputs. Each particle update consists of a random jump in parameter space followed by a simulation of a model output and a Metropolis acceptance/rejection step based on a comparison of the simulated output to the data. The distance of a particle to the data is interpreted as an energy and the algorithm is reducing the associated temperature of the ensemble such that entropy production is minimized. If this simulated annealing is not too fast compared to the mixing speed in parameter space, the parameter marginal of the ensemble approaches the Bayesian posterior distribution. Annealing is adaptive and depends on certain extensive thermodynamic quantities that can easily be measured throughout run-time. In the general case, we propose annealing with a constant entropy production rate, which is optimal as long as annealing is not too fast. For the practically relevant special case of no prior knowledge, we derive an optimal fast annealing schedule with a non-constant entropy production rate. The algorithm does not require the calculation of the density of the model likelihood, which makes it interesting for Bayesian parameter inference with stochastic models, whose likelihood functions are typically very high dimensional integrals.

ISS Daily Summary Report – 09/16/15

Fluid Shifts Imaging Measurements with Russian Chibis:  Today, Kelly, Kornienko and Volkov, with remote guidance from a ground team,  each used a Russian Chibis (Lower Body Negative Pressure – LBNP) device during ultrasound measurements of arterial and venous measures of the head and neck, cardiac, ophthalmic and portal vein, and tissue thickness of lower and upper body. Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Airlock Preparation for JEM Small Satellite Orbital Deployer (JSSOD) #4 Launch:  Yui, in concert with a ground team, depressed and vented the JEM Airlock in support of the deploy of two JSSOD satellites this Thursday, September 17th.  The first satellite is designed to observe the Ultraviolet (UV) spectrum during the Orionid meteor shower in October.  The second satellite, sponsored by the University of Brasilia and the Brazilian government, focuses on meteorological data collection.   Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Internal Thermal Control Systems (ITCS) Fill:  As part of routine maintenance, Lindgren setup and used the Fluid System Servicer (FSS) Fluids Control Pump Assembly (FCPA) to refill the JEM Internal Thermal Control System (ITCS) Moderate Temperature Loop (MTL) and Low Temperature loop (LTL) accumulators.  After FSS operations were complete, he drained and purged the FSS FCPA and ITCS Jumpers.   Resupply Stowage Platform (RSP) Transfer:  Kelly and Yui transferred the RSP Rack from the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) to H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) today. Once the RSP was transferred, the crew restowed all the items that were moved as a result of the RSP Rack transfer activity.   Columbus Trash Gather:  Yui gathered European Space Agency (ESA) items located within the Columbus module and staged them for future disposal on HTV-5.   Russian Treadmill (БД-2):  The Russian crew reported that БД-2 was experiencing hardware issues.  Photos have been downlinked for ground analysis.  Russian crew will use Treadmill-2 (T2) while БД-2 is down.   Today’s Planned Activities All activities were completed unless otherwise noted. The Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) instrument blocks out the bright solar disk, making it easier to see the corona of plasma and dust around the Sun, normally only visible during solar eclipses. This instrument also provides a very large field of view of the region around the Sun. In addition to the benefit of this capability in solar studies, SOHO/LASCO can see many comets which pass very close to the Sun, called 'sungrazers'. Observers on Earth rarely see these objects as they are obstructed by the Sun's glare and Earth's atmospheric scattering at sunrise and sunset. SOHO/LASCO has seen not only many known comets, but discovered many more NEW sungrazing comets. At the time of this writing, the discovery count is approaching 3000. There are nearly 1800 comets and trajectories plotted in these visualizations which covers the time frame from January 1996 to May 2010 at the rate of one frame of the movie corresponding to one day. The great majority of these comet are Kreutz group members (the red trails). The trails are color coded based on group membership. Yellow - unaffiliated cometsRed - Kreutz group. Green - Meyer groupBlue - MarsdenCyan - KrachtMagenta - Kracht 2 Important Notes and Caveats: This version of the visualization provides long trails for the periodic comet so the entire orbit is visible and they can be distinguished from the one-time visitors to the inner solar system. An alternate version with short trails for all comets is available at Lot Of Comets - Short trail versionThe Kreutz group comets rarely make it past perihelion (the closest pass to the Sun) so these orbits terminate a day after perihelion. The Kreutz group comets appear to stream sunward in bunches. This is an artifact of the fact that it is less likely for SOHO to detect incoming Kreutz objects during some parts of the year. The trails represent the orbital path of the comet nucleus, NOT the meant to represent the comet tail.Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Sungrazing Comets Page

LRO and the September 27-28, 2015 Lunar Eclipse: Telescopic View

Dial-A-MoonUT Hour: Minute: Second: init_user_date();show_moon_image(); show_moon_info();Typically, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft flies over the night side of the Moon every two hours, spending about 45 minutes in darkness. Because LRO is powered by sunlight, it uses a rechargeable battery to operate while on the night side of the Moon and then charges the battery when it comes back around into daylight.During the total lunar eclipse of September 27-28, 2015, however, LRO emerges from the night side of the Moon only to find the Sun blocked by the Earth. LRO needs to travel an entire orbit before seeing the Sun again, relying continuously on its battery for almost three hours.LRO won't be in any real danger as long as its power consumption is handled carefully. Except for LRO's infrared radiometer, called Diviner, its scientific instruments will be turned off temporarily, while vital subsystems like the heaters will remain on. LRO will be closely monitored throughout the eclipse.Diviner maps the temperature on the Moon's surface along a swath below LRO's orbit. During the eclipse, the instrument will precisely measure the rapid temperature changes that occur as the Moon enters and leaves the Earth's shadow. When compared with normal daylight variations, these measurements will reveal new details about the top centimeter (half-inch) of lunar regolith. Diviner wasn't specifically designed for this experiment, but as scientists have gained experience with the LRO spacecraft, they've thought of new and creative ways of using its instruments. This animation shows the Moon as it might look through a telescope on Earth, along with LRO's orbit, its view of the Sun, and a fuel gauge showing received sunlight and the battery's charge.

Bright Spots Resolved in Occator Crater on Ceres

What created these bright spots on Ceres? The spots were first noted as the robotic Dawn spacecraft approached Ceres, the largest object in the asteroid belt, in February, with the expectation that the mystery would soon be solved in higher resolution images. However, even after Dawn arrived at Ceres in March, the riddle remained. Surprisingly, although images including the featured composite taken in the last month do resolve many details inside Occator crater, they do not resolve the mystery. Another recent clue is that a faint haze develops over the crater's bright spots. Dawn is scheduled to continue to spiral down toward Ceres and scan the dwarf planet in several new ways that, it is hoped, will determine the chemical composition of the region and finally reveal the nature and history of the spots. In several years, after running out of power, Dawn will continue to orbit Ceres indefinitely, becoming an artificial satellite and an enduring monument to human exploration. via NASA http://ift.tt/1Kf3khw

Linear Embedding of Large-Scale Brain Networks for Twin fMRI. (arXiv:1509.04771v1 [cs.AI])

In many human brain network studies, we do not have sufficient number (n) of images relative to the number (p) of voxels due to the prohibitively expensive cost of scanning enough subjects. Thus, brain network models usually suffer the small-n large-p problem. Such a problem is often remedied by sparse network models, which are usually solved numerically by optimizing L1-penalties. Unfortunately, due to the computational bottleneck associated with optimizing L1-penalties, it is not practical to apply such methods to learn large-scale brain networks. In this paper, we introduce a new sparse network model based on cross-correlations that bypass the computational bottleneck. Our model can build the sparse brain networks at voxel level with p > 25000. Instead of using a single sparse parameter that may not be optimal in other studies and datasets, we propose to analyze the collection of networks at every possible sparse parameter in a coherent mathematical framework using graph filtrations. The method is subsequently applied in determining the extend of genetic effects on functional brain networks at voxel-level for the first time using twin fMRI.

Causal Model Analysis using Collider v-structure with Negative Percentage Mapping. (arXiv:1509.04904v1 [cs.AI])

A major problem of causal inference is the arrangement of dependent nodes in a directed acyclic graph (DAG) with path coefficients and observed confounders. Path coefficients do not provide the units to measure the strength of information flowing from one node to the other. Here we proposed the method of causal structure learning using collider v-structures (CVS) with Negative Percentage Mapping (NPM) to get selective thresholds of information strength, to direct the edges and subjective confounders in a DAG. The NPM is used to scale the strength of information passed through nodes in units of percentage from interval from 0 to 1. The causal structures are constructed by bottom up approach using path coefficients, causal directions and confounders, derived implementing collider v-structure and NPM. The method is self-sufficient to observe all the latent confounders present in the causal model and capable of detecting every responsible causal direction. The results are tested for simulated datasets of non-Gaussian distributions and compared with DirectLiNGAM and ICA-LiNGAM to check efficiency of the proposed method.

Recurrent Neural Networks for Driver Activity Anticipation via Sensory-Fusion Architecture. (arXiv:1509.05016v1 [cs.CV])

Anticipating the future actions of a human is a widely studied problem in robotics that requires spatio-temporal reasoning. In this work we propose a deep learning approach for anticipation in sensory-rich robotics applications. We introduce a sensory-fusion architecture which jointly learns to anticipate and fuse information from multiple sensory streams. Our architecture consists of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) that use Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) units to capture long temporal dependencies. We train our architecture in a sequence-to-sequence prediction manner, and it explicitly learns to predict the future given only a partial temporal context. We further introduce a novel loss layer for anticipation which prevents over-fitting and encourages early anticipation. We use our architecture to anticipate driving maneuvers several seconds before they happen on a natural driving data set of 1180 miles. The context for maneuver anticipation comes from multiple sensors installed on the vehicle. Our approach shows significant improvement over the state-of-the-art in maneuver anticipation by increasing the precision from 77.4% to 90.5% and recall from 71.2% to 87.4%.

Improving image watermarking based on Tabu search by Chaos. (arXiv:1501.01576v3 [cs.MM] UPDATED)

With the fast development of communication and multimedia technology, the rights of the owners of multimedia products is vulnerable to the unauthorized copies and watermarking is one of the best known methods for proving the ownership of a product. In this paper we prosper the previous watermarking method which was based on Tabu search by Chaos. The modification applied in the permutation step of watermarking and the initial population generation of the Tabu search. We analyze our method on some well known images and experimental results shows the improvement in the quality and speed of the proposed watermarking method.

Release Early, Release Often: Predicting Change in Versioned Knowledge Organization Systems on the Web. (arXiv:1505.03101v2 [cs.AI] UPDATED)

The Semantic Web is built on top of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOS) (vocabularies, ontologies, concept schemes) that provide a structured, interoperable and distributed access to Linked Data on the Web. The maintenance of these KOS over time has produced a number of KOS version chains: subsequent unique version identifiers to unique states of a KOS. However, the release of new KOS versions pose challenges to both KOS publishers and users. For publishers, updating a KOS is a knowledge intensive task that requires a lot of manual effort, often implying deep deliberation on the set of changes to introduce. For users that link their datasets to these KOS, a new version compromises the validity of their links, often creating ramifications. In this paper we describe a method to automatically detect which parts of a Web KOS are likely to change in a next version, using supervised learning on past versions in the KOS version chain. We use a set of ontology change features to model and predict change in arbitrary Web KOS. We apply our method on 139 varied datasets systematically retrieved from the Semantic Web, obtaining robust results at correctly predicting change. To illustrate the accuracy, genericity and domain independence of the method, we study the relationship between its effectiveness and several characterizations of the evaluated datasets, finding that predictors like the number of versions in a chain and their release frequency have a fundamental impact in predictability of change in Web KOS. Consequently, we argue for adopting a release early, release often philosophy in Web KOS development cycles.

Learning Regular Languages over Large Ordered Alphabets. (arXiv:1506.00482v2 [cs.LO] UPDATED)

This work is concerned with regular languages defined over large alphabets, either infinite or just too large to be expressed enumeratively. We define a generic model where transitions are labeled by elements of a finite partition of the alphabet. We then extend Angluin's L* algorithm for learning regular languages from examples for such automata. We have implemented this algorithm and we demonstrate its behavior where the alphabet is a subset of the natural or real numbers. We sketch the extension of the algorithm to a class of languages over partially ordered alphabets.
